Nod for construction of Rs 271 crore fishing harbour at Vizhinjam
The new harbour will be developed along the Vizhinjam International Port project, and a breakwater will be constructed to enhance the stability of the entrance to the existing fishing harbour. The project, based on the final design submitted by the Central Water and Power Research Station (CWPRS), will be implemented in two packages, informed Port Minister V N Vasavan and Fisheries Minister Saji Cherian.

India to expand 25,000 km of highways to four lanes for enhanced road safety
A total of 25,000 km of two-lane highways in the country will be converted into four lanes for ₹10 lakh crore, and it will help reduce accidents on the roads significantly, Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari said in Lok Sabha on Thursday. Gadkari also said that 16,000 km of national highways will also be converted into six lanes for ₹6 lakh crore.

Vijayawada: The Vijayawada Division of South Central Railway (SCR), in collaboration with the Projects Organisation Unit, has commissioned 206.29 Route Kilometers (RKm) of Automatic Block Signalling (ABS) in the 2024-25 financial year, marking a key step in railway modernisation.
Railways ups renewable energy capacity additions as it eyes Net-Zero emissions by 2030
New Delhi: Indian Railways, as part of its Net Zero carbon emission plans by 2030, has installed 756 MW – around 8 per cent of its projected traction requirement - of renewable power capacities through sources that include solar–rooftop and land, wind and hybrid arrangements. Railways has projected a traction requirement (for running engines) of 10,000 MW by 2030.
